The first step is to obtain a Virginia marriage license. It may be purchased at any county clerk's office in the state of VA. Accomack County Clerk's Office is located in Accomac, VA with hours of Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Bride and groom must be present with photo ID (driver's license is preferred, birth certificate not needed) and $30.00. License is good upon receipt and for 60 days thereafter. No blood test is required. Call 757-787-5776. Who can perform the ceremony? Licensed Marriage Celebrants are available and the Clerk's Office should be able to direct you to one. Licensed ministers or boat captains (on the water) may also perform the ceremony.
