Core capabilities include:
Engineering Design, Fabrication, and Installation: We engage in applying principles of engineering in the design, development, and utilization of machines, materials, instruments, structures, processes, and systems. This includes primarily preparation of preliminary and final plans and designs, provision of technical service during the fabrication and installation phase, inspection and evaluation of engineering projects, and related services.
Space Vehicle Logistics: REI has contract responsibilities for shipping/receiving, production planning and control, material control, inventory management, and operations required to deliver flight hardware for all Soyuz and Progress missions, in addition to Russian allocations manifested on Orbital and SpaceX vehicles.
Metrology and Calibration: We specialize in precision calibration and repair of a wide variety of test equipment. REI employs metrologists, inspectors, and technicians, many of whom were trained in calibration by the US Military, most holding the Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) certification by the American Society for Quality (ASQ). We operate one of the two 17025 accredited labs across the NASA Agency at Wallops Flight Facility.
Commercialization: REI provides management of the External Customer Office for Team Raytheon which consists of project engineering and integration of non-NASA users into unique NASA facilities. These projects typically involve training, testing of products, and procedures, and manufacturing, and have amounted to NASA cost benefits for over $12M to date.
